Twins ship Paddack to Tigers in 3-player trade
The Minnesota Twins traded right-handers Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak to the Detroit Tigers for catching prospect Enrique Jimenez on Monday, the teams announced.
The Tampa Bay Rays were also trying to get Paddack, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Paddack is slated to become a free agent at the end of the season. The 29-year-old owns a 4.95 ERA with 1.30 WHIP and 83 strikeouts over 111 innings (21 starts) this season.
The 30-year-old Dobnak has authored a 4.86 ERA with 5.4 K/9 across a combined 140 2/3 innings during his five-year career. He's only made one appearance in 2025.
Jimenez, 19, can also man first base. He was playing rookie-level ball in the Tigers' minor-league system.
Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris also announced Monday that right-hander Reese Olson is out for the season with a shoulder strain, according to The Athletic's Cody Stavenhagen.
Olson's injury might have played a big role in the Tigers' trade for Paddack, Stavenhagen adds.
In other moves, the Tigers placed outfielder Parker Meadows on the 10-day IL with a right quad strain and recalled utility players Andy Ibáñez and Ryan Kreidler from Triple-A Toledo.
