The Chicago Cubs placed right-hander Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list with a right calf strain, the team announced Friday.
Taillon will miss "a pretty significant amount of time" with the injury, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said, according to The Athletic's Patrick Mooney.
Counsell believes the 33-year-old will miss more than a month.
Taillon joins fellow Cubs starters Justin Steele (elbow) and Javier Assad (oblique) on the injured list after posting a 4.44 ERA in 17 starts this season.
The Cubs recalled left-hander Jordan Wicks from Triple-A Iowa to fill Taillon's spot on the active roster.
