Texas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray is out for the season with neuroma in his foot, manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday, according to Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports.
Gray was scheduled to start Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels, but right-hander José Ureña could be a replacement option, notes Wilson.
The 32-year-old Gray authored a 4.47 ERA with 1.31 WHIP and 86 strikeouts over 102 2/3 innings (19 starts) during an injury-riddled season.
Right-hander Tyler Mahle probably won't pitch again this season either, Bochy added, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com.
The 29-year-old Mahle, who's currently sidelined with shoulder stiffness, made three starts in 2024 after returning from Tommy John surgery.
