Bryce Harper's latest clutch performance came in the form of a legendary prom proposal.

The Philadelphia Phillies superstar helped a teenager out by showing up at the front door of the girl's house to pop the question:

This all happened because Jake Portello, a senior at Haddonfield Memorial High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey, simply decided to shoot his shot with the two-time National League MVP.

"It was pretty hard, actually. All I did was knock on his door," Portello told "The Phantastic Sports Show" on Monday. "I knocked on his door, and he seemed cool with it at first. Then he was like, 'Can I get your email so we can plan this out?' And as I was leaving he was like, 'Why don't we do this right now,' so I couldn't turn that down."

After that, Portello said, Harper got in his car and followed the teenager to his date Julia's house.

Portello was also not sweating the fact that Julia hugged Harper first after she accepted his prom-posal.

"It makes sense. Bryce is a pretty cool guy, pretty popular guy," he said sheepishly, while adding that he "eventually got the hug."

Portello added that he'll be attending the Phillies game Friday.
