The Milwaukee Brewers signed catcher Eric Haase to a one-year deal, the club announced Wednesday.
Haase will likely serve as the backup for rising star William Contreras.
Last season, the 31-year-old Haase went deep four times with 26 RBIs and a .528 OPS over a combined 89 games between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians.
The disappointing offensive results from the six-year veteran came after a solid two-year run between 2021-22. In that span, he hit 36 homers with 105 RBIs and a 105 wRC+ across 208 contests with the Tigers.
