Boston Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck left Friday's game after taking a line drive off his face in the fifth inning against the New York Yankees.

Houck walked off the field under his own power but had a towel over his face:

The 26-year-old was diagnosed with a facial fracture after evaluation at a hospital in Boston on Friday, according to a team announcement.

Houck is resting at home in stable condition and will undergo further testing next week to determine next steps.

The right-hander owns a 5.05 ERA with 1.26 WHIP over 67 2/3 innings (13 starts) this season.
