Pittsburgh Pirates manager Derek Shelton was in no mood to deal with any pitch-clock shenanigans on Wednesday.

In the fourth inning of the Pirates' game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, Shelton began jawing with home-plate umpire Quinn Wolcott, presumably over issues with the pitch clock. Moments later, as Rays lefty Shane McClanahan was starting his windup, Shelton stormed the field after being tossed by third-base ump Adrian Johnson, beginning a fiery and profane tirade that elicited shades of former Rays skipper Lou Piniella.

Pirates bench coach Don Kelly then began jawing with Wolcott after Shelton had left the dugout.

Shelton's ejection didn't spark the Pirates, who gave up another five runs after the incident en route to an 8-1 loss.
