Fried suffers hamstring strain in Opening Day start, likely headed to IL
Atlanta Braves ace Max Fried left his Opening Day start against the Washington Nationals with a hamstring injury in the fourth inning.
Following the Braves' 7-2 win, manager Brian Snitker said that the All-Star left-hander was diagnosed with a hamstring strain and will likely be placed on the injured list.

Fried appeared to suffer the injury while covering first base on a ground ball. The 29-year-old grabbed at his hamstring after stepping on first to record the out, then departed the field with trainer George Poulis after taking a few warmup pitches.
