Rays' McClanahan exits with neck tightness
Tampa Bay Rays announced left-hander Shane McClanahan exited Tuesday's game against the Houston Astros in the fifth inning with neck tightness/spasms, according to Bally Sports' Tricia Whitaker.
The 25-year-old looked to be in some discomfort when manager Kevin Cash removed him from the contest.
After moving his shoulder in discomfort, Shane McClanahan's night is over. The @RaysBaseball will err on the side of caution even though McClanahan said he was "good."

Cash does not believe McClanahan's ailment is serious and said the hurler is "in a pretty good spot," according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin.
McClanahan said he "felt fine five seconds after" he was removed from the game but respected the precautionary move. He was making his second start since returning from a stint on the injured list due to a left shoulder impingement.
The American League Cy Young contender exited Tuesday's outing having allowed four walks and five earned runs in four innings. He entered the contest with a 12-5 record, 2.13 ERA, and 11.0 K/9.
