There's a chance this is the last season Aaron Boone manages the New York Yankees, but the uncertainty doesn't appear to be bothering the 48-year-old.

"I'm not worried about it," Boone told The New York Post's Dan Martin. "I'll be fine no matter what happens."

The skipper is without a contract after this season and responsible for a team that could miss the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Entering Wednesday, New York is a half-game behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the second wild-card spot in the American League.

Boone has managed the team through a roller-coaster campaign, helping right the ship with a 13-game winning streak in August after it seemed like the Yankees' season was going to be a catastrophe. His tenure in the Bronx has included 321 wins, a division title, and three playoff appearances.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has expressed support for Boone, but Cashman said in June that he would be willing to "make changes" if he felt they were warranted.

"I love doing it," Boone said of managing the Yankees. "But I'll be fine no matter what."
