Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos is not happy with Major League Baseball's decision to uphold his two-game suspension for aggressive actions against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 3.

"It sucks," Castellanos said Tuesday, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "No way around it. I think that pretty much describes it the best."

Castellanos was the only player ejected and suspended following a benches-clearing fracas between the two clubs, which occurred after he stood over St. Louis pitcher Jake Woodford to celebrate scoring on a wild pitch. Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina physically intervened and received no punishment.

The league rejected Castellanos' appeal on Monday, and the outfielder will start his suspension Tuesday as the Reds open a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"Hopefully the rules and consequences are made consistent throughout the league," Castellanos said, according to C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic.

Castellanos added that the explanation he received for his appeal denial had a "lot of legal stuff. ... I'm glad I'm not a lawyer because that seems exhausting."

The 29-year-old's not alone in disagreeing with MLB's ruling on the matter. Former Cincinnati teammate and current Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Trevor Bauer tweeted his support.

Castellanos is hitting .295/.328/.623 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in 15 games this season.
