The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran left-hander Tommy Milone to a minor-league contract with an invitation to big-league spring training, the team announced Thursday.
Milone adds additional pitching depth to Toronto's spring roster. He can pitch in multiple roles, having spent time as both a starter and reliever during his career.
The 34-year-old split his 2020 season between the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves, posting a 6.69 ERA, 4.76 FIP, and 1.56 WHIP with 40 strikeouts and six walks across 12 total starts. He didn't appear in the postseason for Atlanta.
Milone owns a career 51-51 record with a 4.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 688 strikeouts across parts of 10 major-league seasons with eight teams.
