Twins prospect Kirilloff to make MLB debut in do-or-die game vs. Astros

The Minnesota Twins will turn to prospect Alex Kirilloff as their starting right fielder in a do-or-die game against the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

It will be his major-league debut.

Minnesota's top outfield prospect, ranked No. 27 overall by MLB Pipeline, will patrol the outfield alongside Max Kepler in center field and Eddie Rosario in left.

Byron Buxton, who started in center for Game 1, is out of the lineup.

The 22-year-old Kirilloff has never played above Double-A after the Twins drafted him 15th overall in 2016.

He hit .283/.343/.413 with nine home runs, 18 doubles, and 43 RBIs for Pensacola in 2019.
