A documentary series about the Houston Astros' illegal sign-stealing scandal, which is being produced by LeBron James' media platform Uninterrupted, was an overriding factor in Alex Bregman's decision to leave his agent, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports.

Bregman reportedly parted ways with agent Brodie Scoffield of Klutch Sports on Tuesday and is seeking new representation.

The Astros third baseman was upset because he was put in a position by his agent in which James, a fellow Klutch client, would help put together a series about what's turned into a troubled part of Bregman's career, a source told Rosenthal.

Other factors, including Bregman's dissatisfaction with his agent's guidance during the Astros' fallout and the unusual structure of his contract which didn't allow for him to make future salary increases, might have also led to him looking for new representation, Rosenthal reports.

Uninterrupted is set to collaborate with Quibi on a docuseries titled "Sign Language," which will chronicle the Astros' sign-stealing scandal and "explore larger themes of greed, cheating, corruption, sportsmanship, and social media activism," according to a May 15 press release.

A release date for the series has not yet been announced.
