Neither the Houston Astros nor the New York Yankees have announced who will start Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday, but both squads are going to rely exclusively on relievers.
"It will be a bullpen game," Astros manager AJ Hinch said following Friday's 4-1 loss at Yankee Stadium, according to MLB.com. "We'll talk about it on the ride home ... I'm unlikely to use (Gerrit) Cole."
If Cole doesn't toe the rubber, he'll be in line to start a potential Game 7 on Sunday.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone also said his staff would discuss the pitching strategy on the flight to Houston and verified that he, too, will rely on the bullpen in Game 6. Right-hander Luis Severino will be saved for Game 7 opposite Cole.
