The Cleveland Indians have acquired right-hander Hunter Wood from the Tampa Bay Rays, the team announced Sunday.

Infielder Christian Arroyo is also off to Cleveland, with minor-league outfielder Ruben Cardenas heading to Tampa Bay, along with $250,000 of international bonus pool money, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

The Rays moved the reliever to make room for infielder Eric Sogard on the 40-man roster, sources told Juan Toribio of MLB.com. Tampa Bay acquired Sogard in a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays earlier Sunday. The club made another minor move before that:

Wood, 25, has a 2.48 ERA in 29 innings (two starts) for the Rays this season.

Arroyo has accrued a .648 OPS in 16 games this campaign, but the 24-year-old is slashing .314/.380/.603 in 33 Triple-A contests.

Cardenas, meanwhile, is a 21-year-old prospect who's hit 10 home runs with 19 doubles in Single-A this year.
