Houston Astros officials have agreed to meet with three organizations that provide services to victims of domestic violence, reports David Barron of the Houston Chronicle.

The Astros will meet with representatives from the Houston Area Women's Center, the Texas Council on Family Violence, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence ahead of reliever Roberto Osuna's potential home debut with the club Thursday night.

"There was no hesitation by the Astros in agreeing to an eyeball-to-eyeball conversations," said Gloria Terry, the executive director of the Texas Council on Family Violence.

"I told them that it is about you listening. Some of the things you will hear will be hard, but the fact that they moved quickly on my recommendation speaks volumes."

The Astros received some criticism after acquiring Osuna from the Toronto Blue Jays in July while the right-hander was nearing the end of a 75-game suspension for domestic violence.

Osuna is also currently going through the legal process, and his next court date is scheduled for Sept. 5.

One suggestion made by Cindy Southworth, executive vice president of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, is for the Astros to assist with meeting space during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

"It’s less about throwing money at a sponsorship than 'Can we do something that is meaningful but will contribute not only to our work but our social change effort?'" Southworth said.

The Astros have said they will apply a zero-tolerance policy against domestic violence to Osuna as a member of the team.
