The rebuilding Detroit Tigers appear motivated to sell prior to the approaching July 31 trade deadline, but those deals may not involve two of their biggest chips.

Detroit is focusing its efforts on trading pitchers Francisco Liriano and Mike Fiers, as well as outfielder Leonys Martin, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, who also reports that any potential deals involving Michael Fulmer and Nicholas Castellanos are on the back burner.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports, the Tigers were reportedly fielding offers for both Fulmer and Castellanos a week ago.

General manager Al Avila will apparently listen on the duo, but a team will need to make a big push to land either the 25-year-old starter or the 26-year-old outfielder, Crasnick adds.

Liriano and Fiers have been swapped at the deadline before, while Martin was involved in an offseason trade between the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners in 2015 and was also dealt in August 2017. Liriano has been traded four times in his career.

The 34-year-old Liriano has recorded a 4.67 ERA in 15 starts for the Tigers this season and is earning an affordable $4 million.

Fiers owns a 3.70 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 104 2/3 innings across 18 starts.

Martin is in the midst of his best season in the bigs, posting a .758 OPS with 15 doubles, 29 RBIs, and seven steals in 71 games.
