After being replaced by left-hander Oliver Perez, Carrasco was taken to Luther Hospital for precautionary X-rays, according to Casey Harrison of MLB.com.

The injury is reminiscent of one the starter suffered during the home stretch of the 2016 campaign, when Carrasco was struck on the hand by a sharp liner. The right-hander would go on to miss the remainder of that season and the entirety of the Indians' deep postseason run, with his team losing the World Series in seven games to the Chicago Cubs.

The 31-year-old was also hit in the face by a comebacker back in 2015.

Over 91 1/3 innings this season, the right-hander is posting a 4.24 ERA and 3.41 FIP.
