Jansen ordered Roberts bottle of wine after manager was ejected Friday
Kenley Jansen has his skipper's back.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was in the dugout for only an inning during Friday's contest against the San Diego Padres after getting ejected following a mid-frame skirmish with counterpart Andy Green. With Roberts expelled from the Dodgers' bench for at least another eight innings, Jansen told Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register he sent a clubhouse attendant to fetch his manager a bottle of wine to enjoy during his punishment.
"I knew he was going to feel awkward watching the rest of the game in his office," Jansen told Plunkett. "So I thought, let me do something for my manager."
While Jansen didn't divulge the brand of vino he sent his bench boss, a little research shows Roberts might be partial to a bit of Red Stitch:
Hopefully Roberts has a little left over for Saturday as MLB handed him a one-game suspension for his role in Friday's incident.
