Watch: Orioles pull off triple play on Red Sox baserunning blunder

This triple play left everyone in Fenway Park scratching their heads - except, of course, the Baltimore Orioles.

Because Jackie Bradley Jr. inexplicably gave up early, the Orioles were able to pull off three outs on a single play to end the eighth inning, despite missing the initial catch on Bradley's pop fly.

If you're still perplexed, here's how it broke down:

  • The infield fly rule wasn't in effect (though it maybe should have been)
  • Mitch Moreland was tagged out.
  • Dustin Pedroia was out at second via forceout.
  • Bradley, who for some reason was already walking back to the dugout, was out at first via forceout.

Of course, the Red Sox will simply laugh about this in the clubhouse, as they went on to win 5-2 thanks to a dominant outing by starter Chris Sale.
