Watch: Verlander snidely shrugs off pitch-tipping rumors

Justin Verlander has heard the rumors. Justin Verlander also doesn't care.
After Saturday's contest against the Cleveland Indians, where Verlander allowed an uncharacteristic nine earned runs on 11 hits, his own Detroit Tigers teammate and backstop James McCann implied the right-hander was somehow tipping his pitches to the opposition.
"For a day where I thought he had his best stuff all season, they seemed to be on quite a few pitches," McCann said, according to ESPN. "What that is, I don't know. We're going to study film and see."
Whether batters were getting an inside read or not, though, clearly doesn't seem to be upsetting the pool-dwelling Verlander.
