Watch: Tigers' Moya breaks in glove with hammer

Apparently a baseball and a rubber band aren't good enough tools to break in a glove for Detroit Tigers outfielder Steven Moya.
The 25-year-old was caught smacking his glove with a hammer on the bench Wednesday as his club took on the Philadelphia Phillies.
Moya's unconventional method is just another one players have used to try to break in their gloves. None may be more odd, however, than using a microwave.
"I've re-laced many gloves in my shop that have had bacon-crisp laces as a result of being oiled and put in the oven," baseball glove repair shop owner Fran Fleet said in 2007. "This is how food is cooked - not how to treat leather designed and manufactured to function as a tool."
