Report: Red Sox agree to minor-league deal with Carlos Quentin

Carlos Quentin is coming out of retirement once again.

The Boston Red Sox have reportedly agreed to a minor-league deal with the 34-year-old outfielder, sources told FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.

If Quentin makes the club's major-league roster, he'll earn $750,000, according to Heyman.

Quentin first announced his retirement from MLB in 2015 after recording just two hits in 17 at-bats with the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate. A year later, he attempted a comeback with the Minnesota Twins, but was given his release after declining another minor-league assignment.

Over nine seasons in the big leagues, Quentin owns a .252/.347/.484 slash line with 154 home runs.
