The devastating loss of Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura in a car accident Sunday shocked the baseball world as the 25-year-old was taken from the world far too soon.
Thoughts and prayers from several players, coaches, and staff around Major League Baseball poured in as they remembered the charismatic, and sometimes controversial, Dominican hurler, who will be remembered for his electric pitching repertoire and fiery personality.
Among the heartfelt messages being delivered in remembrance of Ventura was the front page of Monday's morning edition of The Kansas City Star.
Prior to his death, Ventura owned a 38-31 record with a 3.89 ERA in 94 appearances - 93 starts - across four seasons of big-league ball.
