In an unsurprising move, the Texas Rangers exercised the $5.25-million option on catcher Jonathan Lucroy Thursday.
Lucroy, 30, came over to the Rangers from the Milwaukee Brewers in an Aug. 1 deadline deal, and proceeded to hit .276/.345/.539 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs for the American League West champions.
Overall, Lucroy slashed .292/.355/.500 with 24 home runs and 81 RBIs during the 2016 campaign.
