Bourjos robs Ichiro of hit No. 2,997 with stellar grab

Ichiro Suzuki won't be making any history on Peter Bourjos' watch.
The future Hall of Famer entered Tuesday's game just four hits shy of 3,000, and he nearly got hit No. 2,997 on the first pitch of the game from Jerad Eickhoff, slashing a pitch into the deepest part of Marlins Park. Bourjos wasn't about to let that happen, though, and made a remarkable catch as he slammed into the wall to rob Ichiro of extra bases.
Bourjos didn't escape unscathed, however, as he injured his right shoulder on the play and was forced to leave the game.
Ichiro's gone hitless since a two-hit effort on July 21 in Philadelphia upped his major-league total to 2,996.
