Watch out, Jackie Bradley Jr., Your buddy Xander Bogaerts is coming for you.
The Boston Red Sox shortstop was quietly putting his own prolonged hit streak together during Bradley's 29-game run, which ended Thursday. Now, Bogaerts has that spotlight to himself, and he upped baseball's second-longest hit streak of 2016 to 21 games Saturday by just barely taking Marcus Stroman over the wall at Rogers Centre.
Bogaerts came into Saturday's game hitting .391/.430/.598 with 34 hits during his 20-game streak. For comparison's sake, Bradley slashed .415/.488/.783 with 44 hits over his 29-gamer.
