If Shane Victorino does make a return to MLB this season, it likely won't be with the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs reportedly released the "Flyin' Hawaiian" on Monday, ending his MLB comeback for now, according to Carrie Muskat of MLB.com.

Victorino appeared in nine games for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs this season, slashing .233/.324/.367. The 35-year-old last played in the big leagues in 2015 with the Boston Red Sox.

In 12 MLB season, the two-time World Series champion owns a .275/.340/.425 slash line with 108 career home runs.
