The 2016 Major League Baseball season is over a month old, and free-agent right-hander Kyle Lohse is back on the radar of teams who need to fill their rotation with an experienced starter.

Lohse is drawing interest from the Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers, reports MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

The 37-year-old right-hander, who's also been linked to the Baltimore Orioles, threw for teams at UC-Irvine on Thursday.

Lohse believes he's ready to pitch for a major-league club, and even made the claim during some friendly banter with former pitcher Mark Mulder on social media.

Lohse last pitched in the bigs for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015, posting a 5-13 record with an ERA of 5.85 and a WHIP of 1.46.

The former 16-game winner would help fill out an Angels rotation in need of starting pitching after losing ace Garrett Richards for the season to Tommy John surgery.

L.A. is also without starters Andrew Heaney and C.J. Wilson, while Jered Weaver and Matt Shoemaker continue to struggle.

Meanwhile, Texas' rotation currently sits fifth in the AL in ERA, but had A.J. Griffin leave a start on Saturday with shoulder stiffness, while southpaw Derek Holland has posted a 5.40 ERA across six starts.
