Colorado Rapids loan Juan Ramirez to Spanish outfit Almeria
The Colorado Rapids have sent Argentine midfielder Juan Ramirez to Spanish second-division outfit U.D. Almeria on a six-month loan deal, the club announced Tuesday.
"Juan is a young player who we identified and then helped to develop in MLS," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a statement. "We believe this represents a great opportunity for the player and our club. We wish him the best of luck in Spain and will monitor his progress carefully."
Ramirez featured in 27 matches last season with the Rapids, scoring one goal and recording three assists. The former Argentinos Juniors man joined the team on a Young Designated Player contract in February of 2015.
He now goes to an Almeria side struggling to survive relegation for a second consecutive campaign, as the team currently sits 20th in the Liga Adelante table.
