'No chance' Barcelona will re-sign Denis Suarez, says Villarreal chief
Villarreal has dismissed reports that Denis Suarez is set to return to Barcelona just four months after he left the Catalonian club.
Suarez joined Villarreal in August on permanent terms but remains on Barca boss Luis Enrique's radar with a buy-back clause of €3 million allegedly being considered.
"Denis Suarez has a contract for four years," Villarreal club president Fernando Roig told AS, ESPN FC reports. "There is no chance of him leaving currently. There is an option for next summer (in his contract), but until the end of the year no chance."
Roig is trying to improve the current squad though, and is looking to see if Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev can return to the club after a successful loan spell last season
"Cheryshev is a player who everyone likes, the coach likes," he said. "If it were possible he would be a big help for us and a great signing. We will try and we will see if it happens and is possible."
Villarreal kicks off 2016 at Deportivo on Sunday.
