Fernando Torres: 'It's no secret that I want to continue at Atletico'
Last December, Fernando Torres returned to the club he made his first-team debut with as a 17-year-old in 2001, joining Atletico Madrid on loan from AC Milan.
What happens beyond this season remains to be seen as Torres' contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, but, speaking at the presentation of Jack and Jones' autumn-winter collection, the blonde-haired Spaniard let it be known that his desire is to be back at the Vicente Calderon for 2016-17.
"It's no secret that I want to continue at Atletico," Torres said, according to Jorge Garcia of AS. "When we sit down to talk about the future, if Atletico feel the same as I do, everything will be fairly easy and straightforward."
As was somewhat expected when he joined the club, Torres has alternated between featuring as a starter and a substitute this season, finding himself in a frontline rotation that includes Antoine Griezmann, Jackson Martinez, Angel Correa, and Luciano Vietto.
However, he's tallied two goals and one assist through seven La Liga appearances, more than any of his counterparts, with the exception of Griezmann.
