VIDEO: Bilbao's Mikel San Jose humiliates Barcelona with brilliant long-range effort

During the first half of Friday's Supercopa de Espana, Athletic Bilbao defensive midfielder Mikel San Jose scored an early candidate for goal of the season.

San Jose gently took down an emphatic headed clearance by Barcelona 'keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen on a ball a few yards shy of his penalty area, before letting it bounce and firing a laser above the German 'keeper's head and into the net.

The goal gave the Basque club a 1-0 lead at the half following 45 minutes of Bilbao looking like the better side.
