PHOTO: Nike congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo with diamond-encrusted 'CR7' boots

Diamonds are Cristiano Ronaldo's best friend. Or something like that.

After the Portuguese superstar captured his second consecutive FIFA Ballon d'Or on Monday, Nike congratulated him by creating the "Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold" boot, which features micro-diamonds on the "CR7" logo.

The gold was apparently selected as the main colour because "gold is earned," while the diamonds were installed because they "reminded Nike's design team of Ronaldo's work ethic."
