Aduriz leads Athletic Bilbao past Malaga
Bilbao, Spain - Aritz Aduriz scored a goal in each half to lead Athletic Bilbao to a 3-0 win over Malaga at the San Mames on Monday which keeps the club on course to finish in the top four.
Aduriz scored just four minutes into the game with a close-range header from Markel Susaeta's corner kick, and he nearly added a second goal in the 24th with a shot that just missed the left post.
But only one minute into the second half, Aduriz found his second tally of the game as he got to the front of the net and finished off a pass from Susaeta to make it 2-0 to Athletic.
Ander Herrera made it 3-0 to the home side when he scored from the edge of the penalty area following a corner kick from Ander Iturraspe.
The result moves Athletic six points clear of fifth-place Sevilla in the race for the final Champions League spot.
