Report: Barca expected to complete €120M Griezmann deal within week
Barcelona are putting the final touches on their move for Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, according to ESPN FC's Moises Llorens and Sam Marsden.
It's understood an official announcement of Griezmann's transfer to Camp Nou is not imminent but should be concluded within a week.
The French forward's release clause dropped from €200 million to €120 million on Monday per the terms of the Atleti contract he signed prior to the 2018-19 season. Some reports suggested Barcelona would pay more than €120 million to allow them to pay the fee in installments, but sources have now informed Llorens and Marsden that the club will not pay "a penny more" than the clause requires.

Griezmann nearly signed for Barcelona before he agreed to a new contract at the Wanda Metropolitano last summer, but it's believed he re-established contact with the Catalonian club as early as February when Atleti continued to stumble during an underwhelming campaign.
The 28-year-old used social media in May to confirm he would depart los Colchoneros. His video triggered widespread speculation that he was poised to join Ernesto Valverde's Barcelona. It wasn't that easy, however, as the Blaugrana board reportedly wasn't unanimous over signing Griezmann.
Barcelona players are due to report for preseason training on July 14. Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, are set to reconvene Thursday, and the club hasn't responded to ESPN FC's query over whether Griezmann would be part of that returning party.
Barcelona are apparently preparing to officially present Frenkie de Jong as their player on Friday. The Dutch midfielder's impending arrival from Ajax was confirmed in January.
