Ter Stegen, Barcelona sign new deal with €180M buyout clause
It'll take a kingly sum to pry Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen away from the Camp Nou, as the club announced Monday it's signed the 25-year-old shot-stopper to an improved contract that runs until June 30, 2022, with a buyout clause set at a whopping €180 million.
Ter Stegen was a regular fixture in outgoing manager Luis Enrique's side over the last three years, and with Claudio Bravo now one year removed from the Blaugrana, the Germany international has become the clear No. 1 at the club.
Ter Stegen has been involved in all nine of Barcelona's trophy wins over the last three years, making 93 appearances and helping the team to 71 victories. He conceded 90 goals in that time, with Barcelona also recording 10 draws and 12 losses with him in goal.
