Alvaro Morata nodded home 33 minutes into Saturday's tilt against Espanyol to set Real Madrid's scoring run at 42 competitive outings, which is a new club record.
Los Blancos can re-establish a four-point cushion atop La Liga with a win. Zinedine Zidane's lot also has a game in hand on second-placed Barcelona.
Real Madrid is level with AS Monaco for most headed goals across Europe's top five leagues, while Morata has the third-most goals among Spanish players in La Liga after Aritz Aduriz and Iago Aspas.
