Stankovic returning to Inter on 5-year deal
Serbian international Aleksandar Stankovic will return to Italian champions Inter Milan, the Serie A club confirmed on Friday.
Inter Milan said they had "exercised the buyback clause" to re-sign Stankovic from Club Brugge after just one season.
The 20-year-old forward, the son of former Serbian international and Lazio and Inter player Dejan Stankovic, has signed a contract until June 30, 2031.
The young Serbian midfielder, a product of the Inter Milan's academy from 2022 to 2025, had impressed during his time in Belgium.
Stankovic scored nine goals in 55 matches last season to help Club Brugge win the Belgian league title - he was named Belgian Young Footballer of the Year.
Inter had loaned him during the 2024-25 season to Swiss club Lucerne.
Stankovic, who worked under Cristian Chivu when he was in charge of Inter's youth teams, will compete for a place in the side with Argentinian World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez, French star Marcus Thuram, Francesco Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
