Genoa are the first side to take at least a point from Juventus in Serie A this season after Cristian Kouame's cross for Daniel Bessa caught the home side's defense napping in Saturday's second half.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from close range for his unmatched 400th goal across Europe's top five leagues, but Juventus eventually slumped to a 1-1 draw in Turin.

Ivan Juric, in the first match of his third spell in charge of Genoa, will be credited with drafting youngster Cristian Romero into a 3-5-2 shape for the visit to Juventus. The Bianconeri pushed for a winner late in the fixture, but the introductions of Koray Gunter and Oscar Hiljemark helped Genoa pack their defensive and midfield lines and keep Juventus at bay.

Juventus return to action on Tuesday when they visit Manchester United in the Champions League.
