Marco Verratti praises Bayern Munich appointment of Carlo Ancelotti
Paris Saint-Germain central midfielder Marco Verratti has backed Carlo Ancelotti to thrill at Bayern Munich after having played under the Italian when he bossed the Ligue 1 champs from 2011-13.
"I've spoken to (Ancelotti) and I've congratulated him for his new adventure with Bayern," Verratti told Sky Sport Italia, courtesy of ESPN FC. "I'd like to be able to play for him again one day, maybe in the national team - he would be a great coach for Italy.
The diminutive playmaker continued, adding, "Every player has great memories of him. He's a special person who never just says things for no reason - he teaches you a lot about life. He has a big heart."
While praising the Bavarians next boss and expressing hopes of plying his trade with him again, Verratti was quick to pledge his future to PSG while leaving the door slightly ajar by the narrowest of margins.
"I don't think anything lasts a lifetime in football, but we are talking about a new contract," he said. "I am paying them back for the faith they have shown in me and I hope to win a lot more with this club."
