Angel Di Maria continues to express his enjoyment of football since moving to Paris Saint-Germain for £44 million over the summer.

The Argentinian forward had a tough time in English football with Manchester United, playing just one season at Old Trafford as he struggled to adapt to Louis van Gaal's managerial style.

Di Maria told UEFA.com, according to the Independent, that he missed being out of Champions League competition in the last campaign, and attributes his injuries as part of the reason he couldn't justify his British-record £59.7-million transfer fee.

"Yes, I missed (the Champions League) a lot, actually.

"Last year was pretty difficult for me - I couldn't play and my injury was really complicated. Not being able to compete in the Champions League after having won it (with Real Madrid) made it a pretty tough time for me."

He has felt instantly at home in Paris, both in the city and at the Camp des Loges.

"It's really nice here. I train every day with a smile on my face - I'm happy to be here, and I have been settling in well with my teammates.

"Paris is a really nice city. My family has felt very good here from the first day they arrived. That makes it a lot easier for me to focus on football."

He has slotted into the lineup well at the Parc des Princes, too, tallying two goals and two assists in just three starts. He believes PSG, with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Thiago Silva in its ranks, can win things this season. Maybe even the coveted European title.

"From the day I arrived here, I could see the quality of the players here and the ambition they have to win (the Champions League) - the desire they show in every training session and in every match.

"We all have the same ambition and desire to fight for it. And I think that with the players here we can achieve it."

Les Parisiens travel to Nantes on Saturday and currently sit in the familiar position of first place in Ligue 1.
