Report: Aston Villa signs Lorient's Jordan Ayew in £12-million deal
Aston Villa has had their bid accepted for Lorient's Ghanaian attacking midfielder Jordan Ayew.
The French club has endorsed Villa's £12-million offer for Ayew, with the player expected to arrive in Birmingham for a medical in the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports.
Ayew joins his older brother, Andre Ayew, who signed a four-year deal with Swansea on a free transfer, as the Premier League's most potent goal-scoring brothers.
Jordan, the 23-year-old striker who scored 13 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for Lorient last season, is Villa manager Tim Sherwood's answer to the void left by recent departure Christian Benteke.
The Villans need to find a replacement for the 13 Premier League goals Benteke scored last campaign, and despite not being a traditional striker, Jordan should be able to chip in a few from an attacking position.
