Report: Chelsea agree to deal with AS Monaco for Radamel Falcao
Radamel Falcao will give the Premier League another shot despite his dismal season with Manchester United last year.
According to Amy Lewis of Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed to a deal with AS Monaco to acquire the Colombian striker on a season-long loan similar to the agreement the French club had with United.
It's unknown if there is an in the agreement for Chelsea to buy Falcao at the end of the season.
The deal was rumoured to be on the verge of completion on Saturday, with Falcao's willingness to take a pay-cut believed to be the main obstacle.
Chelsea requested that he lower his weekly wages of £265,000 after his poor season at Old Trafford where he only managed four goals in 26 league appearances.
Falcao's possible move to Stamford Bridge would also reunite him with former teammate Diego Costa. The pair formed a formidable partnership during their two years together with Atletico Madrid.
The agreement could also spell the end for Loic Remy as the the French striker will likely seek a transfer in order to find another club willing to offer him increased playing time.
