Bartomeu rules out January move for Neymar
Barcelona aren't considering a January bid for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.
"He's not in the plans for January," president Josep Maria Bartomeu said Friday, according to Marca. "Barcelona couldn't meet PSG's demands (this summer)."
Barcelona reportedly made several attempts to sign Neymar and even apparently tried to convince PSG to agree to a loan deal.
However, Bartomeu denied ever offering players to PSG, contradicting suggestions that Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic, and Ousmane Dembele were discussed during the negotiations.
"We did everything possible to sign him," Bartomeu added.
Bartomeu said the opportunity to re-sign Neymar - who joined PSG in 2017 for a world-record €222 million - came up late in the summer window and that it was the player himself who requested a move back to the Camp Nou.
