Report: Liverpool keen on Nice's Seri
Since Liverpool's attempt to lure Naby Keita to Anfield was snubbed, the Reds have reportedly turned their attention to Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
Liverpool has taken its place in a queue for the 25-year-old and recently contacted the French side about his availability, reports the Guardian's Ed Aarons.
Barcelona indicated earlier in August that it was willing to meet Nice's £34-million valuation of Seri, but has since signed Paulinho to slot into a central role. Now it's uncertain whether Barca will submit a bid for the Ivorian midfield metronome, potentially opening the door for other clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool is desperate to bolster its squad with the addition of a box-to-box player unafraid to break up play with a timely tackle, but has been forced to wait until next summer to sign Keita, and could turn to Seri as a stopgap.
Nice appears willing to sell, and Arsenal has reportedly also been in contact with the Cote d'Azur darling, though the north London side would need to offload several squad players before making a third significant summer signing.
