Report: LA Galaxy closing in on Marseille winger Romain Alessandrini
The LA Galaxy are reportedly close to completing a move for Marseille winger Romain Alessandrini, with the two sides currently negotiating a transfer fee, according to Jeff Carlisle of ESPN FC.
The Galaxy are reportedly looking to pay between $1.5 million and $1.7 million for the French attacker, while offering a Designated Player contract that will pay roughly the same figure per year.
Carlisle added that Galaxy president Chris Klein declined to comment on the reports. The club currently employs one Designated Player in Giovani Dos Santos, having parted ways with Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard.
The 27-year-old made 57 appearances for the club in his first two seasons, scoring 11 goals. He has been limited to just eight appearances this season, and could see his playing time at Marseille reduced as the French outfit is reportedly set to complete the acquisition of West Ham's wantaway star Dimitri Payet.
