Horner says he's '100%' committed to Red Bull amid Ferrari rumors
Christian Horner expressed he fully intends to remain with Red Bull for the long haul after rumors emerged that Ferrari has been courting him.
"Look, I mean, of course, it's always flattering to be associated with other teams," Horner said Friday. "But my commitment, 100%, is with Red Bull. It always has been and certainly will be for the long term. There's a bunch of speculation - always in this business - people coming here, going there, whatever. I think people in the team know exactly what the situation is."
German publication Bild reported earlier this week that Ferrari reached out to Horner about replacing current team principal Fred Vasseur.
Horner, who was in the press conference alongside Alpine acting boss Flavio Briatore, joked, "My Italian is worse than Flavio's English, so how on earth would that work?"
Ferrari chairman John Elkann previously contacted Horner about the team principal position at the Scuderia in 2022, according to ESPN's Nate Saunders. Ferrari ultimately went with Vasseur.
The Italian squad finished 2024 just 14 points back of McLaren for the constructors' championship. However, its follow-up effort has been largely disappointing, as the 2025 car - the SF-25 - has been a challenge for Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to handle.
Leclerc is currently fifth in the drivers' championship, while Hamilton sits sixth. Ferrari is fourth in the constructors' standings, already 177 points adrift of leader McLaren.
