Hodgson includes Cleverley, Wilshere, Welbeck in England meeting
Roy Hodgson has called an England get-together at St George's Park on Thursday, with Tom Cleverley, Jack Wilshere, and Danny Welbeck among those invited to discuss preparations ahead of France's Euro 2016 finals.
Everton midfielder Cleverley won his last cap against Germany in November 2013, but club manager Roberto Martinez isn't surprised the ex-Manchester United man remains a part of Hodgson's plans.
"Tom has been in Roy Hodgson's thoughts for a long, long time. Before he signed, Tom was part of the England set-up and has real good experience in that group," Martinez said.
"I think it is a good idea that the England camp get together and they can review what they have done and prepare and have a bit of a vision going forward."
Arsenal duo Wilshere and Welbeck have been compounded by injuries this term and are both still some way short of reaching match fitness, but with 61 caps between them, Hodgson deems them as capable of playing a vital role this summer.
The meeting is expected to be attended by 40 or so players, according to Sky Sports, although that number will have to be whittled down to 23 by the time the Three Lions kick off against Russia in Marseille on June 11.
